Custom Boxez

A packaging supplier, not a print shop

About Custom Boxez

Custom Boxez supplies custom printed boxes and bespoke packaging to UK businesses. Every job starts from the product: its dimensions, its weight, how it is sold and how it travels. It ends with a box that fits it, protects it and carries the brand, specified, proofed, produced and delivered by one team.

What we do

A packaging supplier, not a print shop

A print shop puts your artwork on a box it already makes. A packaging supplier starts with your product and works out what the box has to be. That is the distinction we work to: the structure, board, insert and finish are specified for what goes inside, and the print is laid onto a dieline drawn for that job.

We do not sell stock sizes. Every box we supply is made to the product's dimensions, whether it is a folding carton for a serum, a rigid box for a fragrance set or a corrugated mailer for a subscription order. The minimum order is 50 boxes, so a growing brand can start on the same terms as an established one.

Our aim is to be the easiest place in the UK to understand, specify and buy truly custom packaging. We try to earn that by explaining things properly: why a board suits your product, what a finish will and will not do, and where a cheaper construction would serve you just as well.

How we work

What we do on every job

  • Structural guidance

Most briefs arrive as a product and a rough idea. We recommend the construction and the closure: rigid box or folding carton, tuck end or crash-lock, lid and base or magnetic, mailer or corrugated case. The recommendation follows weight, fragility and how the product is sold and travels, and we explain it before you commit.

  • Dielines and artwork support

We draw a flat dieline for your dimensions, with panels, creases, glue areas and any insert cavity marked. Your designer lays print-ready artwork onto it, or our team prepares the artwork with you from your logo and brand colours. Bleed, safe areas and finish layers are checked before a proof is issued.

  • Materials

Greyboard for rigid boxes, folding boxboard and SBS for cartons, kraft board for a natural look, corrugated board in E flute, B flute and double wall, and speciality papers for wraps. The board is matched to the product's weight and the construction, and confirmed on your quotation.

  • Printing and finishing

Full-colour CMYK, Pantone spot colours and one- or two-colour print on kraft, inside as well as out. Lamination is included on every order; foil blocking, embossing, debossing, spot UV and window patching are added where the design calls for them. There are no die charges.

  • Proofs and sampling

A digital proof showing your artwork on the dieline is approved before anything is produced. Physical sample options depend on the construction and the finish, so ask about sample options when you request your quotation.

  • Production coordination and quality checking

Once the proof is approved, we coordinate board, print, finishing, cutting and assembly against the approved specification, and the finished packaging is checked against that specification before dispatch.

  • Delivery

Delivery is included on every order. Your quotation confirms the delivery address and timing. Tell us your required delivery date when you ask for a quote and our team will confirm whether the timing is achievable.

Who we work with

Growing brands, established businesses and the trade

  • Growing brands

A first custom box is a bigger decision for a small brand than for a large one, so we keep the start simple: a minimum order of 50 boxes, a structure recommendation and artwork support that can begin from a logo. The approved specification is kept on record, so the second order and the next product start from what already works.

  • Established businesses

Ranges with several products, seasonal editions and launches need the same box to come back the same way, and a new size to sit beside the old one. We keep the dieline, artwork and material specification for approved jobs and specify additions against the existing range.

  • Agencies and trade

Branding agencies, packaging designers, print brokers and resellers use us as the packaging production behind their work. Your client stays your client, proofs and deliveries can carry your branding or none where agreed, and we quote from your designer's dieline or draw one for you.

The process

From enquiry to delivery

  • Enquiry and specification: dimensions, quantity, style, print and finish
  • Dieline and artwork: a flat dieline for your product, with artwork laid onto it
  • Proof approval: nothing is produced until you sign off the proof
  • Production: printed, finished, cut and assembled to the approved specification
  • Delivery: included on every order, with the address and timing confirmed on your quotation

Being straight with you

What we do not do

Our work is custom printed packaging made to a product. If you need plain cartons in standard sizes, a packaging distributor will usually serve you better, and we will tell you so early rather than quote for the wrong thing.

We also do not publish prices, because every quotation depends on the style, dimensions, board, quantity, print and finish. Send the specification and we will price it properly.

UK customers

Brands we've worked with

UK brands in fashion, education, textiles, drinks, sport and retail have come to us for custom packaging, among them Paul Smith, Agent Provocateur, Zimmer + Rohde, Black Sheep Brewery, Classic Football Shirts, University of the Arts London, Dukes Education and York College.

Each project starts the same way as yours would: the product, the dimensions, the quantity and the date the packaging is needed.

Packaging Knowledge Centre

We explain before we quote

The Packaging Knowledge Centre is our library of plain-English guides on box styles, boards and flutes, printing and finishes, artwork and dielines, sustainability and UK packaging rules, and how to compare quotations like for like.

It is written for buyers who want to understand their options before asking for a price. The same thinking goes into every quotation we send.

About questions

Questions buyers ask

Anything not covered here, put it in the notes on your quote and we will answer it directly.

Ask on your quote

What makes Custom Boxez different from a printer?

We start from the product and specify the structure, board, insert and finish for it, then print onto a dieline drawn for that job. A printer usually starts from the artwork and a box it already makes.

What is the minimum order?

The minimum order is 50 boxes. Unit cost falls as quantity rises, and your quotation can show prices at more than one quantity if you ask.

How long does an order take?

It depends on the construction, finishes and quantity. Proofing, board, finishing and hand assembly of rigid boxes all take time. Tell us your required delivery date and our team will confirm whether the timing is achievable.

Is delivery included?

Yes. Delivery is included on every order. Your quotation confirms the delivery address and timing.

Can I get a sample?

You approve a digital proof before production. Ask about sample options when you request your quotation.

Do you help with artwork and dielines?

Yes. We draw the dieline for your box. Your designer can lay artwork onto it, or our team can prepare artwork with you from your logo and brand colours.

Do you work with agencies and resellers?

Yes. Agencies, designers, print brokers and resellers place work with us under their own name where agreed. See our agency and trade page for how it works.
